Standing and the Elder band

Standing is taking part in what your clan counts, compared across its members. Everyone sees how it works and where they stand; nobody below co-leader sees a removal or a clock.

A clan on Elixir Clan writes down what it counts, in its policy, and Standing reads every member against it. It is participation, not skill: wins, win rates and trophies won are not weighed, and inactivity is measured from battles played, never from time online. Standing appears once the clan has a policy and at least 10 members.

What a clan can count

Category Read as Over
Clan Wars war decks played out of the decks asked (four a war day up to the clan's finish, all four days in a Colosseum week) the last finished war weeks, 1 to 8
Ranked play Path of Legends battles played; the league reached does not count the last whole weeks, 1 to 8
Donations cards donated, as a weekly average the last weeks, 1 to 8
Trophy road trophies today no window: the record keeps no trophy history

Each category is off until the clan switches it on, and each clan picks its own windows. Eight weeks is the most, because Clan reads eight weeks of the clan's record. Where the record cannot say, the answer is unknown, never a miss.

Minimums

A clan can set a minimum in any category it counts (war decks, ranked battles, weekly donations, trophies), over a window of its own, and say whether a member must meet any one of them or all of them. Minimums are what a member needs to be promoted, what an Elder needs to keep the role, and, when the clan allows it, what earns extra time before the inactivity clock runs.

How Elder is earned

The policy says how Elders are chosen: by the leaders, by hand, which is where every clan starts, or by participation in what the clan counts. By hand, Clan raises no promotions or demotions and draws no band.

By participation, each category the clan counts gets a weight, and the weights are relative (60, 20 and 20 are three fifths, one fifth and one fifth). Each member who took part is placed against the others in each category, and the weighted places make one score. Leaders and co-leaders are never ranked. Time in the clan is a gate and a tiebreak, never a way to earn Elder on its own.

The Elder band

The band is how many Elders the clan wants, as a share of the roster: a lower and an upper share, with the target between them. It is a limit on drift, not a quota: nobody is promoted to fill it. A member can be promoted when they meet the minimums, have been in the clan long enough, score at or above the clan's floor, and rank inside the target.

An Elder who ranks below the band's upper line is outranked. A member above them who scores higher by at least the clan's margin can take their place; on a closer call, the one longer in the clan does. An Elder can be demoted for two reasons: missing the minimums, or being outranked.

A change has to hold

Clan judges at each review: the end of each war week when Clan Wars carries weight in Elder, the end of each calendar week otherwise. A promotion is raised only after several qualifying reviews (one missed review is forgiven; two in a row start the count again), and a demotion only after consecutive reviews. After a leader declines one, the same kind waits before it comes back. The counts and waits are the clan's own. When the evidence is unknown, nothing is raised.

Clan never changes a role. A promotion or demotion is an action for the leaders, who make the change in the game.

What everyone sees

Once the clan has a policy, every member's Standing page shows:

  • How it works here: what the clan counts and the weights, the minimums, how Elder works and how big the band is, the inactivity rules, and what newcomers can expect.
  • Their own line: where they stand, the evidence in a player's terms ("100% war decks over 4 war weeks, 12 ranked battles, ~213 donations a week"), their war decks race by race when the clan counts war, what would move them, the days since their last battle, and any hold a leader has set.

When the clan ranks Elder and the policy lets members see where everyone stands (on unless the leaders turn it off), the page also lists every member and Elder in one of five groups, each with their own evidence and, when the clan counts war, their war decks in each race of the clan's war window, out of the decks asked:

Group Who
Holding Elder an Elder with no demotion building
Slipping an Elder whose demotion is building
Rising a member whose promotion is building
Participating a member meeting the minimums
Quiet a member missing them

Leaders and co-leaders always see the groups when Elder is ranked. Nobody sees a score, a percentile or a rank; the leaders' board shows the band's size and how full it is.

Nobody below co-leader ever sees a removal action or who is on the inactivity clock. A member sees only their own days since a battle.

When it is read

Clan reads every clan with a policy each morning from 11:00 UTC, and again when someone opens Standing, Actions, Trophies or a leaders' page, at most every five minutes. A reading can raise or withdraw actions. A new version of the policy is read afresh.
