The Status charts say which bucket is still being filled

Both capture charts on the Status page gap-fill up to the current minute, so the right-most bar was always the bucket in progress and read as zero for the first minutes of every five-minute window, which is exactly how long the scheduler waits between ticks. That bar is now shaded the way the Dashboard shades an unfinished day (and drawn as a dashed outline while still empty), its tooltip says 'bucket in progress' with the count so far, and each panel states its total (fetches in the last hour, fetches in the last 24 hours) beside the bucket size, so a short last bar can no longer be mistaken for a service that stopped fetching.
